My favorite creative things.

Baking

I absolutely love being in the kitchen, and baking is my favorite thing to do there. I was born into a long line of great bakers, and it is an honor to carry on this legacy. Cakes, cookies, pies: they’re all so much fun and so delicious!

Cooking

There are few things I love more than having a full table and serving meals to my friends and family. Food unites people, and I love serving people through cooking. I have also really enjoyed bringing flavorful Louisiana recipes to Tennessee.

Home Projects

The best and worst part about being a homeowner is the neverending list of projects. It’s hard to balance between necessary and fun projects, but it’s been a lot of fun to see my little house on the hill come together.

Calligraphy

In 2014 I took my first calligraphy class and absolutely fell in love. Taking beautiful, inspiring words and making them come to life on paper or canvas is a joy for me. I do dip ink calligraphy and more modern methods with brushes and pens.

Disney

I love all things Disney. I’ve made more Disney trips than I can count and have over 20 pairs of Minnie Mouse ears. I would like to say that I have a tasteful amount of Disney things in my home, but that’s probably debatable.

Painting

I can get lost for hours while working on a painting. I like bringing color, life, and personality to something that used to be a blank slate. From tiny 2”x2” to much larger 4’x4’ canvases, I love it all and love adding in various textures and mediums.

Cleaning

If you know me, you probably can’t believe that I included cleaning, but I’m REALLY trying to get better about this since I bought my house. I recently got a Dyson, and it’s changing my life. Also I tend to think that if I can clean, anyone can.

Faith

I became a Christian when I was 5 years old and am so thankful to have known the Lord for so long. I love including scripture and things He is teaching me into my projects. My faith makes up who I am, and I want to be a good steward of that.

Reading

When I was a kid, I would beg my parents to let me bring my book into restaurants so I could read at the table. That love of reading has carried on into adulthood and I often find myself up way too late finishing books. I love sharing my favorite finds!
